Both Teams to Score and Soccer Goal Totals
Goal markets reward attention to how teams create and concede chances, not just how many points they have collected.
Both Teams to Score, usually shortened to BTTS, asks only whether each side finds the net at least once. The final result is irrelevant. A one-nil win and a nil-nil draw settle the same way for a BTTS bettor.
Goal totals
Soccer totals are typically set around two and a half goals, reflecting how low-scoring the sport is compared with basketball or American football. Because the number is small, a single goal represents a large proportion of the total, and late goals swing these markets constantly.
What to look at
Shot volume and chance quality tell you more than league position does. A side that concedes many good chances but has been rescued by strong goalkeeping will look better in the table than it does in the underlying numbers, and goal markets are where that gap shows up.
Game state matters
A team chasing a goal pushes players forward and concedes more space. A team protecting a lead does the opposite. Late-game situations therefore change goal probability sharply, which is why in-play prices on these markets move so quickly.
