Soccer Betting Markets Explained: 1X2, Double Chance and Draw No Bet
Soccer is one of the few major sports where the draw is a common result, and every core market is shaped around that fact.
The headline soccer market is 1X2, a three-way bet on the home win, the draw or the away win. The draw exists as a separate outcome because level scores are frequent, not rare, and any market that ignored it would misprice the sport badly.
Double Chance
Double Chance combines two of the three outcomes into a single bet: home or draw, away or draw, or either team to win. You are covering two thirds of the possible results, so the odds are correspondingly short. It suits situations where you are confident a side will avoid defeat but not that it will win.
Draw No Bet
Draw No Bet removes the draw entirely. If the game ends level your stake is returned. The price is shorter than the outright win but longer than Double Chance, and it is the cleanest way to back a team without paying for draw protection you may not want.
Which to use
These three markets express different degrees of confidence in the same opinion. Compare the implied probability of each rather than choosing by habit, because the relative value between them shifts from match to match.
