NBA Player Props: Minutes Drive Everything
Points, rebounds and assists lines are built from projected minutes. Get the minutes right and the rest follows.
NBA player props cover points, rebounds, assists, threes made and combinations such as points plus rebounds plus assists. All of them are ultimately a function of playing time, which is why minutes projection is the core skill in this market.
Why minutes matter more than form
A player averaging a certain figure across 30 minutes will produce a very different line in 24 minutes. Blowouts cut minutes for starters, close games extend them. Rotation changes, foul trouble and rest days all shift the base before talent enters the equation.
Rebounds are more predictable than points
Rebound rates are relatively stable, while scoring depends on shot variance. Projection systems tend to perform better against rebound and assist lines than against points, where a few extra jump shots swing the result.
Read the alternate lines
Books offer the same prop at several thresholds with different prices. When you have a firm opinion, comparing those alternates often reveals a better price than the headline number, particularly on players whose usage has recently changed.
